Chłopek P9 at Polish Karting Championship Round 2
Oliwier Chłopek Battles Back to Top Ten at Polish Karting Championship Round Two
Oliwier Chłopek secured a points haul at the second round of the Polish Karting Championship, recovering from a difficult third race to finish ninth in the final heat of the weekend.
Chłopek opened the round in strong form, crossing the line in second place in Race 1. Race 2 brought a sixth-place finish. The third race, however, proved costly. Starting from sixth, an unlucky opening saw him fall all the way to 34th, last in a field of 34 drivers. He recovered to 19th by the flag.
Race 4 showcased his racecraft. Starting from 19th, the position he had salvaged in Race 3, Chłopek carved through the field to finish ninth and re-enter the top ten.
The driver described the weekend as leaving him with a slight sense of unfinished business, noting that his pace had been good enough for more. He acknowledged, however, that meaningful points had been secured and that many positions had been recovered despite the setbacks.
In a field of 34 drivers where margins are minimal, gaining more than ten places in a single race is no small feat. Chłopek highlighted just how difficult it is to move through such a closely matched grid, making the recovery to the top ten all the more significant.
The Polish Karting Championship is a fiercely competitive series. With margins between competitors razor-thin, a single incident can erase a weekend of careful work. Chłopek's ability to limit the damage in Race 3 and then push forward aggressively in Race 4 reflects the kind of consistency that keeps a championship campaign alive.
Chłopek thanked JSTR Racing for preparing the kart to a high standard throughout the weekend, crediting the team's work as a key factor in his ability to perform.
Support for Chłopek this season comes from a number of partners, including Fundacja Mlodzi w Kuzni Motorsportu, 46Team, Reall Agencja Zaopatrzenia Technicznego, KAMEL team, Cartmax Premium Gokarty Lublin, Drukarnia PIXELpress, and Miasto Lublin.
The championship continues, with Chłopek looking to convert strong pace into a cleaner result at the next round.
