Milczarski Wins DRS100 After P20 Comeback at Shenington

Jakub Milczarski Wins DRS100 With Stunning Comeback From P20 at Shenington
Jakub Milczarski claimed victory in the DRS100 category at Round 3 of the Daniel Ricciardo Series UK, held at Shenington Karting Raceway. His win came after one of the most dramatic turnarounds of the season, recovering from a starting position of P20 in the pre-final to take the top step of the podium.
The weekend began with promise. Milczarski posted strong times during Saturday practice sessions, but a change in weather conditions complicated his plans. When rain arrived, his decision to run full wet tyres backfired, and he qualified in eighth position.
Sunday opened on a more positive note. Milczarski topped the warm-up session, a sign that his kart setup was well-suited to dry running. However, his heat race unravelled quickly. While battling for second place, he was hit from behind and forced off the circuit onto the grass. A four-place penalty followed, despite widespread agreement in the paddock that the collision was not his fault. He crossed the line in 16th, which meant starting the pre-final from 20th on the grid.
From there, Milczarski began his charge. He worked his way through the field in the pre-final to finish eighth, which put him 12th on the grid for the final.
The final delivered the highlight of his weekend. After a red flag and subsequent restart, Milczarski quickly advanced to sixth place. He continued to push through the pack with consistent, controlled driving and moved into the lead with four laps remaining. He held on to cross the line in first place.
Milczarski reflected on the emotional arc of the day, describing it as a journey from hell to heaven. He acknowledged disappointment at the points lost due to the heat race penalty but made clear his focus remains on the championship battle ahead.
His father played a key supporting role throughout the weekend, serving as his mechanic and preparing the kart for race conditions.
Milczarski now sets his sights on Round 4, scheduled to take place at Buckmore Park. With a race win on the board and clear pace in dry conditions, he heads into the next round with momentum on his side.
The Daniel Ricciardo Series UK continues to deliver competitive karting across Britain, with the championship standings tightening as the season progresses.
